She insisted on two separate checks: one from my business account since I said I was buying it for my company and one from my personal account. As soon as she left, my husband told me to contact the police and BBB as it seemed to him like a scam. When I did I was told there were numerous reports about them and to be wary.
Then, I looked at their website and it said they have no affiliations with any scholarship programs or schools. I called them several times and finally later that evening a woman called me back and said that there were no rebates.
So, the next morning I overnighted my cancellation paperwork to them and stopped payment on both checks. My fear was that they might be intending to change the amounts on the checks or use my account numbers for an on-line purchases.
Monday morning I called the Colorado office and told them I had sent the paperwork. I received a notice that my cancellation was accepted.
Then, the 4th of Sept. I received a letter from Check Game Solutions, Inc. in Vero Beach, Florida from a John Trubador saying they were collecting on the $58.00 company check and adding a $30.00 fee to it. I have tried to call their number numerous times with no response and no call-back.
I reported them to the State of Florida Attorney General's Office, the State of Indiana Attorney General's Office and the State of Colorado Attorney General's Office and the Denver BBB. Based on what I can find online, this is a national sales scam with countless complaints.
