we also told her we wanted to be together all the way, since we are together and she insisted that she would ensure that it would not be a problem at all. we rode from canton, ohio to daytona beach, florida where we called the numbers we were given, so we could be picked up and taken to our new lives. about 30 minutes later, a suburban full of young maniacs pulled up. one screamed, "you girls wanna sell some magazines?!" we looked at each other very creeped out and feeling very decieved. we got in the suburban with them and we were given $20 to eat and live off of for the "next day or so" as the boy put it.

we went to eat and then we were taken to Makai hotel, where every one else on the crew was. i met Vondra Dee that night. she had been there 3 weeks and she pulled me aside and told me that i wasn't allowed to smoke pot or drink with the crew until my 2 week training was up. i don't drink or smoke pot anyways and i told her that. i told her that we know that we were lied to and gave her the whole story. she repeated her story back to us and we were amazed that they were pretty much the same. that is when she explained to us that it was magazine sales, door to door.

patty and i marched up to paul weber and stacey webers room to ask why we were lied to and they sweet talked us to death to get us to just be quiet about everything we were not happy with. they placed us on separate crews and that meant we were not allowed to sleep in the same room at all! plus we would be states apart in a matter of weeks. but stacey and paul agreed to allow us to bunk together with another girl, chrissy. she owed corey barker well over a thousand dollars so she had to stay there and sell the magazines because he front her a check to mail in to cover back fines she needed to pay. so that was his way to trap her there.

i trained with corey barkers girlfriend, becky britain. she taught me to lie to the "jones" telling them it was a contest for money for college, business, trade, or tech school. the prize was $2,000.00 plus a trip to hawaii. well the prizes are real, but it is not college money. it's a bonus for the JOB we do. we also had to lie and tell them it was not a job, it was just a contest that the interstate subscription services,inc, sponsors.

i found out that most all of these "jones" do not ever get a magazine. once, becky and i drove through a neighborhood and she started to panic, saying that she worked there before and didnt want any one to see her because of last year, she said she did really well there. well if she did well, why not talk to those people again?

that is when i started to put it all together. we go out every morning, starting our day at 6:30 a.m. start singing songs with dirty provactive language and lots of profanity, we repeat our first five and our nine point close, over and over, like being brain washed, then we go to mcdonalds every day for breakfast. i got wise to this whole thing the first day i was there. but i could not go home because stacey lied about the bus ticket thing. so we were trapped. patty was on paul webers team and she was arrested on 2 different military bases 2 times in one week.

when she told paul that she didnt sign up to go to jail for him or for anyone, he fired her. i went to corey and beckys room and begged them to let her on the crew, because i knew what they did to people who got fired. they took them to the bus station and no matter what time it was, they left them there, with no money and no ticket. after the whole crew stood around calling them a W.A.B. which stands for weak ass b*#ch, and poking fun at them for anything and everything. they were watched while they packed their stuff so they didnt steal anything. there was a boy who was just 18 there who started one week before us named chris and we befriended him because we could tell that he was different and everyone found reasons to hate him.

he had alot of mental problems and he couldn't face that fact. on october 23, 2006, he tried to commit suicide and instead of calling his "emergency contact" or taking him to a proper facility such as a hospital, they screamed at him called him names and dropped him off in the middle of the night at the kissimee bus station which is dangerous at night, with no money and no ticket and the station is closed at night.

we still don't have any idea what happened to that poor kid. Vondra Dee quit right before that incident and they didn't even take her to the bus station, they left her in the lobby until she found "other arrangements" because she was honest with all new people, even us, about the cult-like things that happen there.

the day we decided to quit, corey barker threatened to go find five or six "big black girls" to beat us badly because we wanted to leave. we were not permitted to have our belongings and he called us awful names right in our face. all this was after he stranded us in windermere, florida,at a publix grocery store, which was a 6 to 7 hour walk to the royal celebrations hotel where we walked to. we went to the front desk scared to death and told the clerk our story. she called to hotel manager and together we contacted the police.

they allowed us to file charges for the threats and took us to retrieve our belongings. the hotel manager hid us in a closed-down room for the night and the clerk made arrangements for a ride to the bus station in the morning before anyone woke up. my mother had to purchase the tickets for us, because corey or "daddy" as he liked to be called, refused to own up to the promises stacey made on the telephone.

i gave up a 2 year job and a descent apartment and all i owned to make "$4,000.00" a month to give my preschool-aged son a better life and now i am homeless and my son lives with my mother. i would like to thank corey barker-becky britain-stacey weber-paul weber and best of all mike furman for creating this scam/cult that does nothing but teach young people to lie and cheat, and it ruins peoples lives and all that they worked hard for.

whether you joined the company and got hurt like me, or you bought the story from some kid at the door and they ripped your money away, we all all victims and we will defintely be part of a civil action lawsuit, when the time comes, so that i can speak out for those of us who've been scammed, and those kids who think that "daddy" will take care of them. open your eyes guys!!! please just get away from him. he has paid to have people hurt and/or killed before. do you think he won't do it again?
