Do you all know that jewelry has a 300 percent mark up? I understand some of the concerns on this board and some of the legitimate gripes but lets get a grip here MK is a legitimate business. Im shocked at some of the people who think its a scam or a get rich quick scheme. If being in business were easy everyone would be doing it. I feel sorry for people who didnt know things from ignorance or who were bullied into getting huge inventories but I dont feel sorry for people who didnt hold 3 or five classes or who didnt at least try to move the product or who just let it sit there. I feel sorry for people who had to relinquish the business due to illness. I KNOW a Pink Cadillac Director who told me (and Laura this is not in anyway in offense to you or what happened to you because I DO sympathize with you) that Directors (MOST OF THEM) who fell short of production for even three months if they brought it up in a three to four month period could retain their directorship. MK does NOT want to lose directors or have them leaving the company although it does happen she told me the reason they lost their directorship is because they NEVER called the company or their National or their Senior. The company is not stupid they look at the past production and recruiting efforts and all of that if the director doesnt want to do anything and just relinquish the unit then that is what winds up happening. They try to do everything possible to help you to keep your unit if you come close they will NOT let you go. They dont want directors leaving and feeling bitter about the company and I know life is not perfect and that is going to happen but for the most part they do care and if you call they WILL listen as far as she knows. If you are a director who has had some bad business practices then that is a different story and believe me they DO warn people if something is fishy!!! This company is a lot more ethical than some companies out there believe me and if the consultants and directors practice the golden rule then they will be fine in business and in their life.

Um, no I didn't know the markup for all jewelry, but what on earth does that have to do with Mary Kay?

Well, you aren't going to pay for a large inventory order with 3 or 5 classes. Or do you mean 3-5 classes/week? I've seen literature telling what kind of income one should expect by holding 3-5 classes/week, but I've never met anyone who was able to actually get that many bookings by any means.

Let's see... this would be taking the word of someone who had something to sell you (a Mary Kay sales director selling you on the company)? Not exactly a reliable source.

Yes, well but I've heard from sales directors who say they did lose directorship despite good records and asking the company for more time for very good reason. Is your heresay better than my heresay?
