Laura its Stephanie here -- I DO see your point about the emotional aspect of calling your director and the I believe in you stuff I never thought about that!!! Also I I have never seen anything wrong with trading or swapping I mean people should be able to run their store the way they want to that is the only thing that MK says that I disagree with. So many people get orders and there are things they dont need or cant sell and a director tells them not to swap or trade I guess the unethical ones want them to buy more product huh!!! I hate to say this but it seems to me the people who are successful in life as far as money is concerned are the ones who dont care but the ones who DO care get to the top but I think they get there a little slower but they are consistent and reliable. Too many unethical people get their quick and lose it all you know. I didnt know that it took 4 months down the road to get to the training though thats interesting. I did hear someone once say a consultant will suck the life out of you and that hurt me because if it were not for the consultants the director wouldnt be anywhere but I can promise you Wendy is not like that she is genuine and she does a LOT of personal sales so she is constantly meeting women and recruiting. The one thing Wendy does right is she tells people they have to find their niche there is no one right or wrong way to do anything in MK. Once you find your style you can expand on that. Wendy has even stated that she will not let someone put in a 3600.00 order if she thinks the consultant wont sell it because they will wind up sending it back to the company. I find that admirable because most people will let someone put that in not thinking about the ramifications later. I would rather keep someone at a 600.00 then have them put in thousands to send it all back. I think you have to work smart and not hard and its good to hear both sides like you have been presenting. Stephanie
I totally agree, Wendy does have a good working ethic with her women, I think that she genuinely invests in them and that's why she can be fruitful. Sometimes, even people with the best integrity can get swallowed up in the hype and greed, that's why I believe it's important to know facts, to stay grounded before you get caught up and look behind you and ask 'what happened'. Regarding the repurchase, I think I am getting all mine back and there is something different regarding director status/repurchase.....So whewwwww! I am with you in that I cannot figure out what the big whoop would be to swap...it's about customer satisfaction????!!!! Even stores like Walmart, etc., will be more than happy to call another store to get something for someone. But, since I wrote about this, I recalled someone saying......and this is bad....'you are stealing from someone else's pocket' when you do this. Meaning, director, recruiter or company or someone higher up????? UGH, that thought totally nauseates me. Most consultants have no clue what they'll sell and then what?, are stuck with it not being allowed to swap 5 Form 2's for 5 Form 1's they could sell and help out the other consultant in the process????? Can we spell G O G I V E?? I think the company really, really needs to rethink that, because IMO, I think that spells a certain amount of greed, I see no other basis for the rule. A gal recently signed and the director ordered her initial inventory, only to need, as most time happens, some thing she didn't have. She was told to order it. So, pay $8 shipping for a $7 item?????? I've heard statements like 'sucking the life' outta ya before too, and that's where my thoughts started skidding. Regarding your comment about unethical ones getting there fast, there may be ones who get there fast ethically too, keep that in mind. And, think about this one, many unethical ones could get there fast and keep it while ethical ones can get there slow and work hard, only to have it taken away due to low production later one.....things can happen every which way, so there's really no need for generalizations.

Wendy here: I have a thought on the swapping product thing. I definitely walk a fine line on this one. I have always, always, always, always told my new consultants that I will only order them the popular MK items in their first order because I generally know the formulas and colors that typically sell but if they sell an unusual item and are not able to order it yet, to just swap it out with me. Then that way I have something that I know will sell and she has the unpopular item to sell...for instance Orange Crush lipstick. I also "marry" my consultants together when they have products (especially discontinued ones) that are not moving and they need products. My consultants have been able to move old perfumes, foundations, you name it and swap for updated products. I know that this is not exactly what MK wants to see us doing but sometimes there are those situations that just allow for us to switch out products with each other. I think that when you are actually selling this product, you run into so many different circumstances that you just have to go with your gutt. I sold 3 of the new pedicure kits and these gals wanted them A.S.A.P. so I bought them from another consultant in my unit...that's the type of situation I am referring to. So there's my response on this. I do know though that swapping can lead to borrowing which can cause a situation where the product never gets replaced and now there's bitterness. I have had this happen to me by my own unit members and I stopped borrowing a long time ago. Then I swapped once and the product I got was returned to me because it was musty smelling. Quality control is better if it came directly from you to your customer. If it comes from you, you know where it's been and you don't have to worry about if you paid the consultant for it or swapped the right amount of product, etc. There is a whole host of issues that can and eventually do arise with swapping...it's just that sometimes we don't have any other choice. MK takes the stand that we shouldn't do it and I think they are smart to do that. Then they avoid being in the middle of any conflicts amongst the sales force about the issue. Imagine the calls from bickering consultants they would get if they condoned it..."so and so owes me $130 of products and she said she would give them to me when her order arrived, yadda, yadda" Get my drift? MK says that we are to order from them and not swap, buy from each other, etc. I understand their view point but being in the sales force I also know there are other situations that lead to us swapping or buying from each other at 50%. Hope this helped! Wendy
