I think all of these ladies need to wake up and smell the Tribute. There is a wide range of opinions regarding the Mary Kay business. It is very simple. The Mary Kay, Inc. is in the business to make money. The company makes lots of money. This is why they are (were fortune 500)?

Why do they make all this money? Because they are extremely good at advertising the products that they sell. They make the products, and they distribute the products and they sell it to all the consultants and directors, etc to sell for them.

Mary Kay is around still not just because the company produces a good product, but mostly because they market it really well. You don't often see the ads for Mary Kay products as a consumer, on TV, or in magazines. The company in question has limited advertising. Applause Magazine, and Online Websites; which you can only reach through a sales person. Most of this company's advertising is targeted towards the salesforce, i.e. consultants etc. The conventions and all the regallia, and the hype right along with very extremely aggressive individuals who don't give a hoot about the people who they recruit.

I don't blame the consultants who attend the success meetings for buying into all of the well trained and gifted directors who are there just to keep you motivated and hyped up enough to continue with the business. It is competitive and the ones that do survive are cutthroat and don't care what they do to get their recruits and sales. Right directors?

Do you people know that the vast majority of women in U.S. run when they here a stranger say "I can see your feeling under the weather, can I pamper you?" You might as well say "Excuse me Maam, I want you to stand here and listen to me for 5 min and then purchase my overpriced skin care and cosmetics that I, for some reason have to push on everyone because no one really comes looking for it. Please I really want to borrow (not own a pink caddy)."

Let's be honest. Both scenarios are equally annoying to a happless female victim of a Mary Kay Consultant. Those hyped up conventions are good at targeting their salesforce and keeping them well stocked in their inventory. Pink ladies, you all are the customer. In the U.S. alone how many millions of dollars in Mary Kay inventory do you think there is sitting on the shelves of the salesforce? After the convention they get so hyped up they run home and place a huge order. Is it any wonder the Mary Kay Inc, puts on these advertising conventions. And did you know that Sales in the company are recordbreaking after seminar.

The following are all facts and simply cannot be argued.

  1. Cadillacs are not free. You continue paying for it indirectly.
  2. Those red, purple, pink, and any other color jackets you earn are not free.
  3. The product you sell is just as good as oil of olay, revlon, and loreal.
  4. You are the Mary Kay consumer; the target of their advertising campaign. The one giving them all your money and not selling all of your inventory.
