I have had enough of this site but first I would like to tell those of you who have no life to get one and move on.

Mary Kay is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to give it a try. It is not a get rich quick scheme and it is not for everyone, however, it is a perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to make a little extra money as well as those who want to go to the top.

Apparently it is not for those of you who do not know how to run your own business or for those of you who rely on others for their own success. Did you really think that this business was going to be a breeze? Well sorry to burst your bubble but nothing worth having comes easy - if it did everyone would at the top. It is very easy to blame others for your own shortcomings but it is time to face the truth and it seems to me that you just did not have what it takes to be successful so you want to bring others down with you.

Maybe if you had some knowledge about what it takes to run a successful business you would realize that Mary Kay gives us much more than many of the other companies out there and I would gladly recommend it to anyone. Also, as far as the "lies" that some of you were referring to - I feel that everyone who comes into Mary Kay is considered a future director or National Sales Director and are treated as such until they decide it is not for them. What happens during that time regarding inventory decisions, recruiting, etc. is totally the new consultants responsibility.

I would rather talk big inventory with everyone thinking that they might be the next NSD instead of having them come in with a $200 order and quit because they are frustrated about not having the products their customers want. Inventory is an investment in owning your own business and comparably full inventory in Mary Kay is peanuts compared to other businesses (example: to start a restaurant like a Taco Johns it costs about $500,000 and where is their 90% buyback)

Don't get me wrong there are bad apples in every basket so I am not saying that there are not some bad directors and consultants in Mary Kay but is completely unfair to blame the entire company for a few bad people. Just for your information, my Mary Kay career has not always been great and their have been times when I have thought about going very parttime but I have never put down the company for what is completely in my own control.

Hello Amy,

Are you for real? How naive are you? I would love to know how much ACTUAL money you're making with Mary Kay. I just joined about 3 weeks ago as a new consultant and what I started learning didn't really give me any sense of empowerment. Instead, I felt more fear and doubt than anything else.

Can you honestly tell me that you don't find certain things wrong with the company right now? I have. I think that MK is truly dishonest. My director pushed me to order the inventory that I should have never ordered. My recruiter did not give the whole scoop on MK and did me a diservice.

I never needed to try selling the product to determine that Mary Kay wasn't for me. I listened to the training cd's and went to the success night meetings and felt that I was not being given any tools to help me succeed.

I'm sorry but you need to get your head out of the pink clouds, honey. Wake up! I'm not going to put myself into debt just to pad somebody else's commission check. I know what happened when I purchased my 1,800 inventory. Well, I'm sending it all back. Waste not, want not. I have no regrets and believe me when I say I will say to anybody, don't do Mary Kay.

Well I see not a whole lot has changed since I posted on here last! This is Wendy and I spent hours and hours posting on this site over a year ago (before the birth of now my almost 5 mos. old! I had to quit because reading on here made the morning sickness worse!). I tried my best to give a balanced view point and to help others. I am happy to say I STILL get calls from many, many, many consultants on here who need help and direction. I am still totally open to giving advice. But let's face it, this business is for some and it's not for others. Unfortunately you won't know until you try and if you find it's not for you, send the inventory you've accumultated back and don't get all angry about it. I too have had times of saying to myself, "it would be so fun to just be able to sit here and be with little Lance and not have to WORK (MK is work by the way but fun work) BUT if I did that...I would have to go out and get a job and put the little guy in daycare". So this IS the best option for ME but not for everyone and we have to realize that.

The thing that has always and I mean ALWAYS surprised me is that why do the ones who leave, seem to be so angry?! If I left this business, right now, I wouldn't blame Mary Kay. I wouldn't blame myself. I would just find something better and move on.

I have spoken with one gal inparticular via email recently, and I know for a fact she has been on this site, and she is rude, rude, rude. I don't mean she just doesn't "agree" with me on MK because that is fine, she is RUDE! She is a name caller and anything you would expect from a 4th grade bully, comes spewing out of her mouth. Now if those who are pro-MK and anti-MK don't agree, then so be it. But what's with the name calling? We don't know each other personally so why throw garbage at each other. We all really need to try to be adults. Agree? I chose to post this here and am not implying someone recently is doing this but I just had to vent it somewhere. Wendy T.
