Subject: its all wrong

first of all, did you go to meetings on a regular basis? of all my recruits, the ones not making it and complaining all of the time are the ones who Never Show Up. why should a director spend her time and energy on someone who shows no desire to move up? she needs to be working with the ones who call her and ask for guidence and showing an effort. i get so tired of hearing people gripe about their current situations and yet, they keep doing the same things over and over again. if you want things to change, then you have to make a change! now that you have given customers 50% off, do you really think they want to buy at full price again? find some new customers, get some new names, make something spectacular out of your buisness. call your director and tell her you need her advice, that your wanting to figure out how to do this mk thing. there are, of course, some bad seeds out there. i truely think the mk has a majority of good ones. but, if you feel your director isnt putting her heart into it, then get back in touch with me. my director pushes me foward when i need it, lays off when i am needing some time to think, and holds my hand when i am having trouble. i am extremely blessed to have her and feel spoiled by her. i wish all directors could be like her and i know there would be even more success stories if there were. she would be more than happy to talk to you and help you as much as possible. dont let negative thoughts and disbelief in yourself keep you from being all you want to be. mk came into your life for a reason. maybe it was to change someone elses life who needs this opportunity, maybe it was overcome personal obstacles. but you dont want to be sitting there 5 years from now wondering what would have happened if you had given it your all. dont blame circumtances for your unability to make a go of it so far. take a good look in the mirror and figure out what you need to do to turn your life into a dream come true.

I would like to add my 2 cents on the topic of meetings. I am an entrepreneur with a small consignment business and a MK business. I am NOT lazy or stupid or unrealistic.I faithfully attended one and a half years of weekly meetings along with attending director's meetings and other events. I learned nothing--I only watched prospects get facialed over and over. This type of pep rally gets old fast. My director's favorite line was/is "THOSE WHO SHOW UP GO UP". There were women in her unit who had been in MK for 15+ years--they were not moving on up. Now, I know that here are successful women who do attend meetings and I think if it works for you--go for it! :-). I am all for finding success on your own terms. I feel that when you are being charged $5.00 to $10.00 to attend meetings, then you should get something out of it. The Director's meetings (which were held in Burlington MA--FYI-now you know my area) were especially annoying. We were personally invited by our Directors and then when we got there there is a lady at a sign in table asking for the $6.00 entrance fee. I feel consultants are invited only to pay for the room these directors rented. I have found a FREE, informative source online called UNITNET.com which has a lot of info. I have looked at many sites and found some nice directors with good info. I find their sites to be low key-not pushy and chock full of resources. SO instead of spending upwards of $300 a year on meetings which got me no more education than I started with, I am spending my Monday nights reading solid info. And just to let you know-my business is going great despite not attending the hallowed Monday night meetings.I have a growing customer base that are loyal users. All of these people (which number 24 today) were not the result of warm chattering--they approached my table at events, the hair salon etc... and asked me questions. Bottom line ---Mary Kay as a business is fun for me....meetings are not.I love my customers and I love the products (I am a former Estee Lauder, Clinique and Lancome girl) and I think that when you have fun with this business, it takes off!
