Lynn:

On your other post, I wanted to mention (before current DIQ's get scared) that DIQ production is $16,000 in 1-4 months. Not each month.

Also, MK promotes prizes and awards based on retail value of wholesale production, in my opinion, I believe that sets up women to order what they don't sell to gain recognition. There are women in Queens courts who are in dire debt just to get that recognition, and you are right, it is their responsibility to order what they sell, however, much of what is promoted throughout this business is order, order, order. They are pulling out all stops to get those orders in and this is flat out wrong and bad business in my opinion.

Women are lured emotionally in this business, unlike most businesses in corporate America who don't play emotional, love and God cards to get employees. Regarding your comments about women seeking information prior to accepting this offer, that'd be great, but we rely on the 'Christian' women to tell us the truth. Yes, consultants TRUST the women who approach them thinking that what they are being told is the absolute truth, only to find out in most circumstances the real figures regarding income and retention rates.

You are savvy enough to have a history of excellent business practice, but most women who are recruited do not have your credentials and feel, based on what they are presented with at first, what is dangled in front of them that this is the best thing since sliced bread. I did. Many do.

What everyone seems to find is what MLM statistics have already proven, that most will fail at this business and it is not their fault. There are directors who have been Cadillac directors who have lost their units after offspringing numerous directors and did not have sufficient time to replace those consultants.

I appreciate women posting on these boards and I post because I offer information that is not readily available to women who are seeking this opportunity. Regarding the retention rates, information about 10 leave, 10 are on their way out and only 1/3 of the 10 remaining will work. That is a MK FACT given on tapes AFTER YOU DEBUT AS A DIRECTOR. The information is not available up front, otherwise, I would have not pursued directorship and believed that the 'hard part was over'. When I listened to the tape, I was floored. It took alot of work to get 30 people and production. I was an excellent recruiter because I believed in this opportunity, and hey, who wouldn't want to make money from what someone else does. That's basically the jist of this whole 'opportunity'. There are directors who sell and teach selling and that is the way to be. Longevity is definitely a factor, as you gain more, but that is not what is preached up front. What is preached, as you well know is that you can have it as fast as you want it.

The primary reason why women vent and post on forums is to inform and advise others seeking this opportunity, as you yourself have investigated forums, I am sure you found out information that was not presented to you at recruitment. That says alot about the company to me and I hold them very responsible for these practices. That they do not disclose vital business statistics seems very deceiving.

You yourself say that they use strong arm tactics to get inventory orders....the horror stories relating to those incidents are told all over forums. Thank God they can be told.....when women guised as loving Christians come to you with this and tell you you won't succeed unless you order x amount, we believe them. Then, as MK statistics also reveal, most find out it's not all that glamorous and see the extent of manipulation and greed and run from it within a year.

I've been a consultant now for about three months, and I am loving it. I purchased an 1800 ws inventory (my own choice, the director didn't even have to ask) and have blown through it... I plan on increasing my inventory to a higher level to meet my needs. I am loving this business, but I can see how it wouldn't work for many people. I did browse these forums before signing: I wanted both sides of the coin before I signed. And I am willing to deal with a lot of the issues raised here.

I think some of the key ways for MK to be successful for someone is to a)take everything you are told and research the hell out of it; take nothing on faith, b)don't let your director push you around; stand up for yourself(I have a good director, but I can see how pushy they can be), and c)understand that no matter how hard you work, it takes time to see a return on this business. if the opportunity wasn't presented to you in a way that makes you understand that this is NOT get-rich-quick, then your recruiter did not lay everything out for you honestly, and you should tell her. Either she won't give a hoot(meaning she is one of those who make the rest of us look bad), or she will be upset that that is the way she came off, and will change her style to match it. in any case, good luck to you.
