Well...I said I would "try" them and see how they worked out, well..they worked great. She then invited me to one of her unit meetings and to meet her director.
Keep in mind this was late July...I was going back to college in mid-August...The director spoke with me, and I said I was highly interested, but was NOT interested in inventory...I went to a Technical School...Mainly engineering...And most of the time I was the ONLY girl out of a class of 35-40 males. I told her I didn't think it was feasible for me to order inventory...
Then she proceeded to tell me she would fly up to my school (9 1/2 hours away from where I currently was located), and do my debut...She would help me sell my product if I couldn't do it....So I fell for the trap...I bought $2400 WS...All that my credit card could hold.
Well I found out that within the year...After only selling 3 basic skin care sets...And having ONLY ONE repeat customer...This was just not the time to be playing around with my money...I really wanted to finish my degree, and finish college most of all. So I called my director, practically in tears because my credit card was NOT getting paid off, I needed more money for school, I didn't know what to do...She told me she would figure something out for me to be able to stay in it and pay off my debt...
Well her idea was to call other consultants and ask them if they'd buy my inventory, most of them said NO...And since I usually abide by things I didn't want to sell on eBay since I was told I couldn't do that...Not an option. So then my director said...Well, just send it back!
So I did...I asked if she could box everything up and send it back...She said sure... Well...She never told me that it was the end of me being a consultant, and that I could NEVER be a consultant again...
Has anyone ever returned their product for buyback and became a consultant again?
I'm still very interested in Mary Kay and 6 years later I have the business knowledge and know how to run my own business...I feel that I would be able to do it, and I really really want to sign up...My husband thinks it would be great for me, but I'm not sure if they'd let me sign up again?
Anyone have any advice?
Thanks in Advance!!!

When you're in direct sales, it is very helpful to be selling a product you believe in... and evidently, you believe in Mary Kay products. But from the perspective of being a good businessperson, you need to do some diligence. This means to recognize the various ways that you could be investing your time and other resources before you commit to anything. Since there are many other possibilities than Mary Kay, it seems likely that one or more of these other possibilities would be better.
The fact that you've instead decided that you want to get involved in this one company's product that you were involved with previously suggests that you haven't seriously looked at other possibilities. If you do, I am sure you will find many alternatives that don't provide you with this conflict based on your past experience with Mary Kay, which by applying your own knowledge and experience, can be more rewarding, both personally and financially.
