To the lady who thinks "it's not Mary Kay's fault":

You have exposed your own lies!!!

You say that you turned your initial inventory 5 times in the first 18 months. $3,000 wholesale x 5 = $15,000 wholesale = $30,000 retail.

Then you say that you did national court of sales your first full year. Hello! That would require $36,000 in retail sales. Clearly, $30,00 is not enough!!!

And by the way, turning your inventory 5 times in 18 months only made you about $800 per month, before EXPENSES. Not much!

__________________________________ I have to assume that this consultant probably did place some type of re-stocking order after her initial inventory purchase. 6K is not a lot to do in 18 months. i doubt that she did not find it necessary to RE-ORDER. I think what she meant is that she used her initial inventory to BUILD her business and then, be able to make her money.

As to women telling you how much they have sold when they are so gung-ho--I don't see anything wrong with that. Most corporate lawyer do not tell you what number starts off their 6 figure salary. It seems a bit rude of you to ask.

People that I know who do make money from MK (I am not one of them) make a decent steady living, and an extra $800 a month is a godsend if it would be in addition to my day job salary. I think you are underestimating how much effort one needs to place into MK for it to really be lucrative. No one has said it was easy, and those who push for inventory are, in my opinion, trying to make it better for their consultant to not be discouraged and leave. Having inventory makes it easier to tell someone do you want to buy THIS instead of I can place an order for you for this little picture here. It's all about marketing. _____________
