As luck would have it the bank turned me down!
Two weeks later (last night in fact) I had a moment of clarity after my 27th "No I don't want a freekin free facial" during my walkabout in my local mall. I came home with the heavy feeling that I wouldn't be popular with my recruiter in the morning when I told her that I wasn't going to sell mary Kay after all (she was getting ready for the red jacket).
Apart from feeling dissapointed in myself for believing that I HAD found the 'perfect opportunity', backed my husband against a wall, and harrassed countless woman and friends in order to 'live the dream' I FEEL FREE AND I FEEL GREAT. Thanks to you wonderful woman who confirmed for me (I read EVERY post here into the early hours of the morning) what I already knew in my heart that day I have made the decision to NOT pursue a job in sales for Mary Kay or any other scheme. I'm going to apply for a job at the local 7 eleven tomorrow. It won't make me rich and I won't get a round of applause for ringing up goods but I will earn enough money to pay a few bills and I won't be selling anyone anything they don't truly need or want.
Talk about a close call
Original poster - thank you for sharing with us. I am glad reading through all of our posts helped you see the light. Knowing that we saved even one person from this scheme that is Mary Kay shows me it is worthwhile to spend time posting here. Good luck with your new job.

What a liberating choice! And you'll be enriching women's lives at 7-eleven as well-best of luck:)
