I think there is a lot of phoniness and "cultism" involved in Mary Kay; however, "success" is how you define it. I joined MK to keep myself in the product at a cost-effective price as well as make a little money on the side. If you don't recruit (the point here is that without a team, you don't have to be responsible for "coaching" anyone else - your time is your time)and simply sell products, you can make up to 100% profit for each product you sell. I consider myself successful, as I set out to accomplish what I intended to do.

[[Death to Pink - no more Mary Kay]] - 28 Jan 2005

I don't "work" for Mary Kay - I never want a job that makes people cringe and wish they could run away when they see me coming, but I've simply got to let off some steam.

I'm a close relative of a MK Director, and let me tell you, a more obnoxious bunch of women you will be hard pressed to find. The only topic of conversation is Mary Kay, always accompanied by that phony, stiff smile and lots of "warm chatter" - like nobody can see through it. Jeez-O-Pete! Constantly yammering about 'Seminar' and 'product'. Most people are too polite to tell them to put a lid on it.

I've got more make-up than I'll use if I live to be 101. I just buy stuff to shut her up - and I'll bet that's how most of the 'consultants' make their money - bugging friends, family and co-workers. If Mary Kay products are that great, they'll sell themselves in a store; don't need people out there pimping the stuff.

And that gaudy jewelry and those stupid pink cars!!!

It's a MLM plan, it is NOT a business and the only way to make money is to recruit others - Amway for your face. Just makes me want to get out a mirror and see how dumb I must look.

Sad women who are being used and are using others.

Thanks for letting me vent.
