I just wanted to let you know that this company, Mary Kay has completely changed my life and I feel sorry for you that you never gave it a chance and obviously now have a bad outlook on it. I am a director and am earning my 2nd car, have replaced my teaching income, and now stay home with my twin babies.

Nothing becomes successful on its own. If you were to open a store of clothing you would by inventory. You knew from the beginning that it was not required, but you knew it was a smarter business decision. Obiously you didn't work the business as it should be worked, otherwise you would still be working, because if you do work this business as Mary Kay has taught us, then the money will come and you can't make more money an hour that you can in this business.

I hope you rethink your website. You are stopping women from having a chance at a successful career. I pray that the Lord blesses you in whatever else you choose to do with your life, but please don't stop women from having a chance at this career. I love it and I am so proud of my business.

Hey Eli - Did you ask her how she maintains that car production? Does she have a 'selling' unit or does she promote production via initial inventory orders. And, what is her unit retention rate, meaning how many people will she eventually churn thru to maintain being a director/car 'winner'.

If she is reading, which she obviously must be - this site doesn't STOP anyone from doing anything -STOPPING someone is to physically get in front of them and hold them down so they can't do something. This site, as well as others, INFORMS people about the good and bad, and I think Eli has been very generous in allowing all to voice their opinions - both good and bad. If this sites proves to supply information and people DECIDE (MK knows all about that word - DECIDE) to not pursue a career where the statisics prove that it is not successful for MOST, then yippee. But, the key here is that people SEEK information on this site - weigh the pros and cons and then make a DECISION.

I think that the 'good' part of MK is very scantily represented on here because there is rarely an answer to pointed questions about average income. Not the one time big sale, but what your average income is and that is less expenses to give people a good picture of what they can expect.

In all fairness, why don't the pro-MK people start posting their bottom line on their 1040's on here and then sell us the 'opportuntity'.

MLM deductions are going to be very limited in the future, as I understand, from a decision in December 2004. IRS is going to begin cracking down on MLM's especially.

Let me ask this email writer - have you ever had to make a decision about something big and wanted to look at all sides of it before you plunged???? Wouldn't that just be LOGICAL? What is it that you would like to see SUPPRESSED here? It's great that you get to stay home w/your kids and are driving around in a car for which you still have to report as income and pay the tax on the sale price of the car thru your 1099 - but I would like to know HOW you make your money in MK?
