Spamming, the Mary Kay Way

After responding to an allegation of “harassment” by another site about my website members/visitors to thepinkingshears.org posting the website url in some PUBLIC guestbooks - I started thinking about spamming/harassment and what it really means and how in Mary Kay, spamming/harassment/intimidation the Mary Kay Way is OK. Gee, didn’t mean all that to rhyme, just happened that way.

We hear stories all over about how women ignore the “no soliciting” signs in stores, offices and the like in order to “warm chatter” (breaking the law). We are taught that NO doesn’t mean NO and so we ask them to do MK again and again and again (solicitation and harassment) or call incessantly to change their mind. I’ve even seen directors put in writing how many times to call and the proper spacing in between calls to get that YES. We are taught to talk to everyone and anyone who has skin within 3 ft around us (invasion of privacy; solicitation and harassment) to present our opportunity. We are taught to place “fish bowls” in businesses but do not say anything about Mary Kay (deception, solicitation) when doing so, then when you have their “information” - CALL and say you didn’t win the prize, however, you get a FREE FACIAL (deception).

Many times, we receive emails with /marykay.com attached to the writer’s name and have heard and seen on pink sites that these “trollers” admit they troll groups to recruit (solicitation) and do this exclusively. (Sure beats warm chatter to strangers out in the world). Anyway, when you are in MK - you are bombarded with tons of emails from the directors as “motivational tools” - but many of those emails are forms of guilt trips and harassment for you to place ongoing, unneeded orders - but this is OK.

I guess when you “Spam” others the Mary Kay way, however that may be - thru the internet or in person - that’s OK, no laws apply! You can lie to women in order to get them to an event to hear the marketing plan and that’s OK too! Yet, place a URL on a public domain with a respectful note and we are considered to be harassing just because our site is what it is - and that is NOT PINK. We expected this sort of reaction - it’s normal and MK directors /Nationals teach that women, such as ourselves, who ditched the opportunity are losers, quitters and negative NINNIES spreading our poison throughout the world.

Well, ladies, this IS the USA - we DO have a right to have a site where we can FREELY speak about our EXPERIENCES - it won’t be popular in the pink world, but to the 98% of women who fail in MLM’s it definitely relates to the MAJORITY and we’ve endured REAL harassment by positive women. I hope to provide some examples on the site ( names excluded of course) of some of the evil responses we get just by sharing our URL or trying to open discussion about how women REALLY feel about MK or what they REALLY make.

As I have said before, some of the most vile comments come from the women who say they are positive. What a sisterhood! The women who are now “losers” (having lost tons of family finances on mlm risk and/or lost their families) and “quitters” (quitting something that was bad for them/quit being manipulated and guilted out about not working their business) are considered negative ninnies (my favorite new term - comes straight from a top director) were once the “beloved” sisters of this group - Mary Kay.
