I ran across your Personal Experience Add on the Internet today. I am new to Mary Kay (2 months) and I have a huge amount of inventory (3000+).

I have already been through my friends and family. I have a full time job working for a Huge World Company and I work from home. I told my "recruiter" that I do not get out of the house much and that she needed to help me come up with ways to sell my product under my current situation. My recruiter has not helped me at all.

I have been depressed, and everyday I have to look at this inventory on my shelf. Friends and family buy out obligation or guilt but they are not going to send me referrals as I told word of mouth was the key... My friends no longer want to hear the work Mary Kay because I ask them to help me with my business and this accepted because I have been pushy and asking for a lot help... Well, word of mouth has ran out and I have over extended friendships and family at this point.

Do you have any ideas that might help me? I maxed out our savings and I really want to sell my product or at lease get most of my cost back. If I return the product for the 90% buy back I loose a boat load of money.

Thanks so much and it is good to hear that someone else has been through a similar experience.

My director always says to step out of your comfort zone. I can understand that you may not be able to get out of the house often, but many people in Mary Kay are in the same situation. That is WHY they are in MK to improve their current situations. Right now, I work full-time, go to school part-time, and I also volunteer for the USO; However, I can still make the time for MK because I know that if I am busy now, it will benefit me in the future.

There is so much that you can do with Mary Kay. If you are going to the Unit meetings, the directors are always helpful. They give you new ideas, tips, and options. You can do chocolates and flowers, Restaurants, boxes in local stores, women's night out, etc. Also, what I am not so good at is chattering. But there are so many options.

The other day, I just worked a restaurant. Normally, to work a restaurant, you go to Produce Junction, and buy carnations. They cost you about $2 a bunch (about 2 dozen to a bunch). You can get 5 bunches for a total of $10 (if you are working with someone else, split it to $5/person). Then you go to the restaurant, tell customers that it is customer appreciation day, give them a flower, and a survey to fill out to win a gift basket or $10 gift certificate. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to hand out all of the flowers, and we got tons of leads. In addition, people were thrilled to get a flower. They were so surprised and happy.

There are so many ways to work your business. If you concentrate on making others happy instead of getting rid of your inventory, than the business will work itself for you.

If you ever need ideas and support, please contact me. I will be happy to help you.
