This post was mailed to the Wikimaster.I read your article and I have to agree with you 100%. I was recruited as a mary kay independent beauty consultant about 9 months ago. I unfortunately have become one of those women who has thousands of dollars of merchandise in my basement. I have decided that selling the products is something that I no longer have any interest in. Although I would still like to supply a small number of my family and closest friends with products. I was wondering if you had any ideas on unloading the majority of my merchandise. I know this is going to sound stupid but you mentioned something about a 12 month period. If you can let me know about that I would really appreciate it. I would love you hear from you if its not too much trouble.
Here's my opinion about this:
Mary Kay sales directors tell prospective distributors about this policy as if Mary Kay were displaying their confidence in the program. Only, Mary Kay doesn't really do this voluntarily, they do it to avoid being investigated for violations of state laws against pyramid schemes. They do the absolute minimum requires by the DSA, look for every exclusion and deduction they can, and then threaten that you may never become a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant again.
In short, this policy stinks!
