I felt the same. I was invited to one of their "parties" by a good friend of mine who is now involved into this and felt somewhat obligated to buy something that day and soon enough my friend was pushing me to become a consultant and buy the initial kit and also trying to convince me to buy the big stock product I was supposed to then sell to my future clients.

Not happy she was pushing me into having my own first party, pushing me to set a date, to invite people, etc. I already have a full time job and I am also taking classes at UCLA therefore my time is limited and so I told her I needed more time to schedule and organize a party. All hell broke lose because according to company policy once you buy the initial kit you immediately have to have a party, blah blah blah.

I told her to back off and she got seriously mad. I mean, we are no longer friends. Why? Because I could see right away what this company was about and I read it a few minutes ago on this site. They make the consultants buy products in the hope to sell and advance in the pyramid.

They are no different than Avon and other companies. They allure you with company cars which in order to get you have to work harder than the regular jobs most women have. They show you monthly checks earned by successful consultants but I wonder what are these women's TAX RETURNS and how many days and hours a week they have to work to get all these so called benefits. Nobody gives nothing for nothing. Mary Kay is nothing special if not worst in this case.
