As a satisfied former Mary Kay Consultant, I am dissappointed to see your remarks. Yes, you are required to buy product to receive prizes. This is a sales organization. This is how they track/measure their success and or failure.

They do suggest you have product to sell. You could have opened your store without inventory. However, in this world of instant gratification, how many women do you think would wait more than a few days for an eye shadow, lip stick, or mascara. No inventory for women who want to buy/use now is suicide.

Business is the key word here. Not hobby, but BUSINESS.

Mary Kay gives you all the tools to be successful. The women who are successful in Mary Kay, are running a business, not a hobby. They take responsibility for their actions.

People in business have business plans before they get business loans. Do you have a business plan? "Plan your work, and work your plan" - sound familiar??

Return their inventory?? How many companies let you return your inventory? The corporation I work for stands behind the "you bought it, you keep it" theory.

I had financial difficulties when I was a consultant. I did not work out a business plan before signing my agreement. I tried to fly by the seat of my pants. It didn't work. I would never cut down Mary Kay Cosmetics because of my inability to run my own business.

I take full responsibility for my actions. I suggest you to do the same

Honey--

If you like Mary Kay so much, how come you moved on to a different company?

It seems like you must not be terribly bright... because either ...

I'm really a little perplexed as to why you'd go out of your way to support Mary Kay after you left Mary Kay... maybe you really didn't leave Mary Kay but you figure this makes you look like you're unbiased.

One thing maybe people can get out of your post though, is that while there are people out there who will take advantage of other people, you still need to watch out for yourself. Be aware when people are trying to sell you something, pretending to be your friend, but really they're only interested in taking advantage of you. Being a trusting person can cause you a lot of grief. Be on the alert so you don't get taken.
