I think your bad experience is because you had bad leadership. Your sales director should be telling you not to over extend yourself. You are suppose to buy enough inventory to sell.

Inventory should not be on your shelf collecting dust. When your inventory comes in it should be going right out the door, off your shelf so you can make a profit. Why would anyone spend so much money to buy inventory just to get a prize when you could buy yourself something nice with the money you just spent on product.

And to become a sales director it is a group effort of sales... not just one person. To be successful at any thing takes a lot of work.

... the only problem with this is... when Mary Kay corporate condones, approves, encourages, and rewards this "bad leadership", then guess what? It's time to start blaming Mary Kay, rather than the new participants who presume that they should be able to trust their leaders.
