I don't even want to know all the loop holes that are involved with that. It's very discouraging all the awful things that are going on in what could be a great business. I've personally choosen to just buy a very small amount of things and try to sell what I have and reorder only when I have a client base who I know will buy up the products I have. It was a great testimony reading your page.
If you have any help ideas for me,...or anything else you would like to share on this matter, I would love to discuss!! Thanks for your words.
When I joined almost a year ago I wasn't given the inventory speech. I wish I had heard it. I have been doing what you're plan is and as my business has started to take off (I was planning my wedding so I was mainly personal use) I realized that it was inefficient & not very cost effective for me to be placing orders all the time & then having to deliver it. I also recently attended a training class where we learned how to do the inventory appointment (no pressuring) and was sitting there thinking..."God, I wish I had ordered more product when I first started." I think about the amount of my first major inventory purchase and think about all that I could have gotten for free had I done this during my first 2 months, even if I couldn't start building my business until after my wedding 4 months later.
Now, your Success meeting should not be an aweful experience. And it shouldn't be about pushing you to purchase inventory. Our meetings are focused on pampering our guests & training our consultants in areas such as booking & formats of different classes. And they are VERY positive.
I hope this helps. Don't get discouraged. Try talking to your director and telling her that you don't like being pressured and this pressure, which is not mentioned anywhere in Career Essentials (which you should listen to if you haven't already), is turning you away from the business. Tell her that you will be successful and if she wants you as part of her team, and wants you to place big inventory orders, then she should be helping you build a customer base & get your inital bookings (ie hosting your debut, & teaching you how to hold successful classes) rather than pressuring you which will only ultimately lead to you leaving the company and having/spreading a negative experience to others. Let me know if you have any more questions.
