This is a continuation of the thread in Mary Kay Opinion5

I responded to one of these opinions about 5 months ago (I can't even find it on this website anymore, but it must still be here

), and since then I have received a flood of e-mails from new consultants as well as men and women who desire to become consultants. I am grateful that some of what I posted was able to help you make an informed decision on becoming a Skin Care Consultant with Mary Kay. Of the 25 personal e-mails that I've received, 5 have signed up with my team. The other 20 have signed up with other consultants accross the United States or have decided that Mary Kay was not for them.
I believe that my team will agree, through my own experience I have developed a fair, honest approach to beginning a business in Mary Kay. It has many advantages, but at the same time you need to ensure that it will "fit" into your life at the present time. I tell my team members that I am not interested in pushing them to purchasing thousands of dollars worth of inventory. And I highly encourage married and engaged persons to consult their significant other. I want Mary Kay to enhance the lives of the family, not cause further discord. We don't discuss inventory until we determine what the customer base will be for my new team member (unless they would like to sign on with inventory). I don't encourage loans (though they work for some people) because my goal is to help you stay out of debt. Many of my team members have a varied approaches to how they will handle their business, and I respect that. I have many goals and I expect that Mary Kay will help me reach my goals, yet I also understand that the goals of my team members are different from mine. So I try to create an atmosphere that will be condusive to them attaining their long term goal.
Again, thank you to all of the men and women who have sent me letters. If you would like an objective view on Mary Kay please feel free to e-mail me at user dolivia at domain marykay.com . If you live in the Phoenix area (Arizona) and would like to become part of a Mary Kay team, I'd be glad to meet with you. If you are interested in becoming a consultant and live outside of Arizona, I can assist you with finding a consultant in your area. If you just have general questions, I am also available. (smile)
Amazed by God's Grace,

Hi Livvy
I just want to thank you for your letter on this website. It is very encouraging. My bestfriend recently signed up with you, and I am considering doing the same thing. The tone of your letter sounds like you do not push people to buy inventory beyond their means. And I like that. It also sounds like you are very good at coaching people onhow to make their business successful for them. Thank you for helping my friend and being so honest with her. She tells me that you have made her experience a good one so far. I will be in touch.

Hello again. Livvy here! I must say that I have had nearly 60 personal responses to my posting to date! I received my first negative one today from a lady who accused me of "...promoting your style of being a director and not speaking for the company as a whole the philosophies of Mary Kay should be enough for people to see that it is a great company." She also wrote, "I would certainly be careful of your own motives your message would have been far more powerful and genine had you left out the recruiting offer and sales promo. The best thing all consultants can do is ask what would MK do! Did you?" My message for Shelley (the author of these quotes) and everyone else is that I did not realize that my message came across as selfish. I thought that this site was geared toward writing personal testimonies of what has/has not worked for us in Mary Kay. I must say that I was quite puzzled to receive such a negative message from Shelley, though I am pleased that hers is the first negative response that I've received. My motives are genuine. I don't tell people to sign up with me. I know many Personal Consultants in the Phoenix area who are having difficulty recruiting, so I pass along names to them. I like to assist other consultants with getting on their feet. Especially when I see their enthusiasm and what a great asset they would be to the company if they could just get a jump-start. Also, for Shelley and everyone else...I AM NOT A DIRECTOR. (I'm not sure why Shelley made reference to that in her e-mail.) As addressed in my e-mail above, I have many goals outside of Mary Kay and Mary Kay is currently my stepping stone to attain my goals. I want the same for all of you as well. Life is about realizing our dreams and becoming what God wants us to become. So, for the last time, my e-mail was never meant to be deceptive, selfish, or any of the other words that Shelley mentioned in her e-mail to me. I simply found something that worked for me, and I'm sharing it. This site is full of great information on techniques that have/have not worked in reaching your goals. I am greatful for all of you who have sent me "thank you" e-mails and for those who continue to keep in touch with me on a regular basis. My motives are to help in anyway that I can!!
Still smiling,
Livvy
Some how recruters seem to forget that not all people have the time to sell MK and they should keep in mind that maybe the people just wants to use the product for personal satisfaction and not for gain.
