... we DO NOT have to take the car and I have NEVER taken a Car! I have taken CASH because I have a very nice car! I have never had to make a copayment, therefore have always received my $350/mo for the Grand Am that now pays $375 (Mary Kay raised it!) and currently get $500/month for the Grand Prix and that has since been raised to $525!
Where do you find a company that will INCREASE what they are already doing/paying!?!
...
I don't understand how the 1099 is even an issue because Mary Kay could not legally give us a car or the money from a car without it being reported to the IRS.

... my point of the 1099 is to advise that the CAR IS NOT FREE as they tell you........many women are led to believe they WIN A FREE CAR, they are led astray up front, they think they qualify for it, and bam, it's the reward, no more needs to be done, YES, it's published, and YES, they should check it out, but my point is, NO ONE should say it's FREE when it's NOT.)
... I sure as heck wish I could have gotten one of those nice letters to encourage me and let me try yet another month as a new director who had received NO training.....my training was scheduled Late October - which I cancelled cause I couldn't afford to go and I had decided to hang it up anyway - and I debuted in July.......as it was, I got the letter that boldly stated 2 months in a row is a NO NO. Perhaps with directors who are like Wendy and have proven records, it's different, but it wasn't in my case and I am not the only one)

So, the letter is NICE when it's in bold print "YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF YOUR DIRECTORS AGREEMENT WHEN YOU DO NOT MAKE PRODUCTION"? It was not a nice letter and all directors who miss production for 2 months in a row and utilize their one time only grace month should 'step down'. Then on these boards, you write that women miss again and again and never get 'let go', why is that? Everyone has one thing in common, they missed production, so why do some stay and why do some go? Can anyone from the company enlighten us on this phenomena?

Jury Awards $11.2M in Mary Kay Suit
TEXAS - A jury in Texas ordered Mary Kay Inc. to pay $11.2 million including $10 million in punitive damages, for firing a sales manager disabled by cancer, who, the company argued, was not an employee but an independent contractor.
"This verdict means the 920,000 alleged independent contractors working for Mary Kay have their civil rights," said plaintiff's counsel Angela Alioto. "If they get sick, they have a remedy. They can take a leave."
