I work for one of these "Sweepstakes" companies, The National Magazine Exchange. They are as low as they get! The majority of the calls I recieve everyday are young minorities who haven't yet tanked their credit. There are, of course, some elderly people who call in, as well.

I feel the questions that I have to ask these people are both personal and inappropriate (i.e. credit card status, yearly income). The mailings that they send out don't even mention the word 'magazine', only the "fact" that they can win a million dollars if they call in and enter the sweepstakes i.d. number.

At the end of some of the calls, I am to offer the caller the chance to learn more about a $25 Target gift card, or a $25 pre-paid gas card. When they ask me what they have to do to get it, I tell them that I have no idea, because the company has never told me! Further, I asked for a copy of the mailings that the people receive, and they never gave me that either.

They have done nothing but cut my pay since I started there 3 months ago. They are the lowest life form and need to be publically humiliated and made an example of! They expect their employess to give 4 rebuttals in every call, even if the caller is some 85 year old grandmother! I am actively searching for an alternative job at this point. I feel really bad to have to put good people through this everyday.
