I ordered hot rod magazine from a book company and I only got two copies. The book company (National Magazine Exchange) told me that hotrod magazine was not being published anymore... is this true or did I get screwed? (I THINK I GOT SCREWED)

editor response
We found James's plight intriguing and decided to follow up on this complaint ourselves. A quick scout on the internet followed up by several emails to Hot Rod Magazine revealed they are indeed still in business and publishing their magazine. A call to NATIONAL MAGAZINE EXCHANGE was placed and we talked to a supervisor named Simon. We read him James's email and asked for a comment.
Simon said that they were no longer handling Hot Rod Magazine and that Mr. Hollon could choose any other magazine of his choice and that it was a packaged deal and they offered the best prices available for such a package. We politely told him that Mr. Hollon had made an contractual agreement with them verbal or otherwise that he would take a FOUR year subscription to HOT ROD MAGAZINE and one other magazine and just because National Magazine Exchange no longer carries Hot Rod Magazine, it was not Mr. Holland's problem and if they could not fulfill their obligation to Mr. Holland they should refund his money, or at least half of it for the magazine they cannot or will not supply.
Simon reiterated that they no longer handled Hot Rod Magazine and we reiterated that was not Mr. Hollon's problem and if they could not fulfill their obligation to supply Hot Rod Magazine for the four year period that they agreed to upon entering into this contract, that he should be entitled to his money back.
Our conversation ended at that point, when we asked if that was their final position and a refund was not going to happen and we were told that was how it was.
So, If you are thinking of ordering subscriptions from National Magazine Exchange, we would like you to carefully consider James's plight before proceeding.
As a footnote, Steve Temples of Hot Rod Magazine has recommended that James contact their subscription department via Email. I am not sure if they can help James out, but we have passed the message to James with the hope that someone will do the right thing.

FOOTNOTE: We recently heard from James and he received the following Email......
Dear Mr. Hollon,
Please be advised that we have considered your order Paid in Full. No further payments will be required.
We are extremely happy for James and we would like to think we had some small part in making it happen. A big thanks to Steve Temples and Hotrod Magazine for their participation.
We are left to wonder why it ever had to go this far ????
