What is Financial Dignity?
By helping others with your gifts, and being the recipient of goodness and gifts from others, we are able to realize “financial dignity” – that ability to have sufficient for our needs and to be able to bless others with our abundance.
What is “Private Gifting?
Private gifting is the conscious act giving freely of one’s substance to others within a private group of individuals of like-mindedness, and has been in existence for many years. Our activity is based on THE POWER OF ONE – THE POWER OF ALL. It is this principle that has built THE POWER OF PEOPLE NETWORK – or what we like to call ourselves, “THE POPN”.
THE POPN is unique from other opportunities – this private activity does not involve network marketing, multi-level marketing, or any type of business or commercial activity. There are no business transactions, investments, and/or securities involved in this private activity. There is no business or company name or location; there are no directors, officers, shareholders, or principals. Why? Because THE POPN is not a company, firm, industry, or conglomeration of any kind. It simply is a private activity in which individuals support each other, much like a family does, in a nurturing and supporting its members in a team concept that helps to change lives.
The concept of private gifting is based upon the lawful right that both American and Canadian citizens have the Constitutional right to gift property, cash, and other assets to others. Both the gift givers and receivers are subject to the rules and regulations established by the individual country’s laws. The United States’ gifting rules are found in the IRS Tax Code, Title 26, Sections 2501-2504 and 2511. For Canada, its gifting rules are found in the Canadian Tax Code, Sections 143.3 and 62.0.
The law states that one or more individuals can give a gift to another individual of up to $11,000 each per calendar year without any tax liability to either the giver or receiver of the gift, because the tax on the gift has already been paid (from original earnings). Since these gifts are not earnings in accordance with the definitions of taxable income, these gifts are neither considered income, nor are included in the recipient’s gross income.
How did the concept of private gifting begin?
Have you ever given a gift to a charitable or humanitarian cause, such as to the Red Cross, or cash pledges to your local Public Broadcasting Station, or even to a local or worldwide relief fund for the recent tsunami survivors? Have you been the recipient of a private gift from a friend, for your birthday, graduation, wedding, anniversary, or for any other reason? If so, you have both participated as a giver and a receiver in private gifting.
For centuries, giving private gifts to one another is an expression of kindness and goodness in sharing one’s abundance with others. Governments have continued to allow this practice for individuals to share their wealth with families, friends, and others. Indeed, private gifting has been a means of helping and blessing others on special occasions or when the need arises.
Many cultures gift as a matter of course. Asian, Jewish, and South American communities often gift individuals within their race and/or culture on a regular basis to help individuals start a business or buy a home. The recipients, in turn, gift someone else to help enhance their lives. One exceptional example of private gifting is Habitat for Humanity, where everyone shares his or her time, talents, and materials with the singular goal to build a home for someone else – without thought of personal reward. While some participate with providing the monetary means to purchase supplies, some wield a hammer or saw, and others prepare and bring food to share abundantly with all. The key here is that all participate in creating a core team that works together to bless someone else's life.
THE POPN is such an activity – of sharing one’s abundance and blessing others, perhaps at the very moment when their need is great – and doing so freely and willingly. And by doing so, helping yourself – and others – to realize financial dignity in the process.
How does this gifting activity work?
Individuals share their abundance by giving cash freely to others and using a basic concept that "Line upon line, precept upon precept…all things must be done in order". When they follow the Universal Law of Sowing and Reaping – "when you shall give, you also shall receive," they are participating in this gifting activity. These are the basic premises under which THE POPN works.
As such, THE POPN also follows God's Law of Reciprocity: "Give and it shall be given unto you." This private activity is offered only by means of an exclusive and personal, one-to-one invitation. When someone like you accepts the invitation to hear about how THE POPN works, you will move through this activity’s natural progression from first participating in the giving stage, on toward the receiving stage.
In this activity, there is no fixed hierarchy of individuals who have an advantageous position or unfair advantage over new participants. In THE POPN, all are equal in sharing based on the POWER OF ONE – THE POWER OF ALL.
Who can participate in this activity?
Please understand that THE POPN is a private sharing group, and is offered only through an exclusive invitation to individuals 18 years and older. You are here because you were invited to explore the possibilities of realizing financial dignity. Indeed, we invite you to learn more about our activity and become part of something rather extraordinary. With the information you received today, you can literally change the future of your financial life and the lives of others as well.
Is this some kind of business or company?
It is important for you to understand that the concept of THE POPN is this: THE POPN and its members is a private gifting activity. There is no company – we are a family of individuals, and we willingly and freely give to one another and to others who participate in our activity.
THE POPN is not a business or an investment. No company can withhold or misplace our gift. We are totally in charge of our own gifts and gift directly one to another, and work toward the betterment of the team – based on the POWER OF ONE – THE POWER OF ALL.
How can you give to a stranger?
Ask yourself this: How many times have you given to United Way, the Salvation Army, the Red Cross; to your local churches, synagogue, and temples; to your local community and other organizations? Did you always know who would be the recipient of your gift? Did it matter to you what stranger benefited from your generosity and your willingness to share your abundance?
The only difference here at THE POPN is that the person you help may start out as a stranger, and over time, you will get to know that individual as part of the team, part of our “family” – and work with them and perhaps develop new friendships. We all have met some of the most wonderful people and have made a lot of new friends across the country and the world. These people are so giving: they often contribute much of their time, talents, energies, and professional experience and spiritual guidance in our activity. Indeed, they are people we want to meet and befriend. And you are welcome to join us and join with us in helping others through THE POPN.
Is this a pyramid?
No, this is not a pyramid scheme in any way, shape, or form. A pyramid is associated with a company or a business. To say again, THE POPN is not a company, and is just a private sharing activity. We have no sales quotas or no contests for bringing in the most new members. We do not sell positions, and we do not have an ever-widening base to the base structure, which just keeps going and going. A pyramid never allows anyone coming in on the bottom to ever reach the top.
In our activity, everyone gives the same gifts, works together in team dynamics through the 1-up leveraging process, and receives the same gifts – not once, but many times over. In a pyramid, only those at the top get the profit, while those at the bottom never reach the top. In a pyramid, people can – and have – lost their money.
An extra word on the subject: A pyramid is also not to be confused with "Network Marketing". Although Network Marketing is a legal and viable source of income, when was the last time you, or anyone you know, able to start at the bottom of the company and reach the top position in the company? NEVER!
We say again, THE POPN is neither a networking company nor a pyramid scheme. What we are is an opportunity to share our abundance with others to help them – and us – realize financial dignity by giving and receiving the same levels of gifts.
Why would I want to participate?
Private gifting has changed countless lives for the better. There are those within our group who were about to lose their cars and homes, and through participating in our activity, have been able to reverse their financial paths from negative to positive balances. We have participants now able to realize the goal of a college education – for themselves or others – and make nearly forgotten dreams to come true, and helped others less fortunate along their way toward achieving financial dignity – all from participating in the gifting process. Indeed, gifting is the fastest way to generate cash – and to share goodness and abundance with others and ourselves.
Do I have to share this with family and friends?
No. Our group here at THE POWER OF PEOPLE NETWORK directs you to the diversified resources of like-minded individuals who are searching for this very type of activity to change their lives – and their financial course – with this activity.
Do I have to do this part time or full time?
It’s entirely up to you! Many people work this activity around their existing schedule, first on a part-time basis, and then if they desire, on a full-time basis. It's a matter of setting priories and fitting this into the nooks and crannies of your current lifestyle.
I’m not a salesman – can I do this?
Absolutely! There is no selling, no solicitation, no pressure, and no coercion. Indeed, we claim, “no selling, no convincing, no chasing”. It is simply a matter of expressing what is in your heart, of sharing your own reasons for becoming a participant, and those experiences that have changed your life for the better. We hold live conferences – just like the one you attended – in which your guests can have their questions answered, so you don't have to do any explaining.
Is this activity legal?
Yes! Based on your Constitutional right to bear, offer, and receive gifts, private gifting is legal. Churches, civic groups, charities, and people from around the world have participated in organized, privatized gifting for over 300 years. Laws state that it is legal for individuals to exchange gifts (see the gifting rules under What is “Private Gifting”?).
In the United States we have the Preamble, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Internal Revenue Service’s own rules to protect a private citizen's rights to earn, pay taxes, and give away property and cash, so long as it is done according to the laws and codes of this country.
Is this structure for this activity considered a board or panel?
Not at all – THE POPN uses a 1-up structure (see the Overview and Chart options from the Home Page). This structure allows its participants to get into the receiving position quickly through a “1-up” qualifying structure that out performs ALL matrixes and boards, and is a mathematically superior structure.
