One of the longstanding policies is that Ripoff Report will:

... never remove reports even when they are claimed to contain defamatory statements, and even if the original author requests it.

But for companies which participate in the Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Proram, finding the reports filed by unhappy consumers can be difficult. In fact, the Ripoff Report now admits that

... as the leading consumer advocacy website, our technology is being continually upgraded to handle the volume of searches from consumers, the media, the authorities and millions of others from around the world. While we are always in the process of upgrading, our search results may not return all reports. This is only temporary and intermittent.

One of the companies participating in this program is DirectBuy. A search within Ripoff Report on DirectBuy returns pages and pages of reports that state:

INVESTIGATION: DirectBuy commitment 100% member satisfaction. DirectBuy recognizes that complaints posted on Ripoff Report (true or not) are issues that need to be addressed and if handled correctly can be valuable learning opportunities. Merrillville Indiana.

A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business. Presumably, there are complaints associated with each of these listings, but those complaints, which were once prominently displayed on the Ripoff Report web site, are evidently nowhere to be found.
